What's Old Is New Again!
The "short porch" welcomes visitors to the original front entry of the Gingerbread House. This renewed version includes pieces of the original porch. Authentic arches, pillars, and corbels were lovingly pieced together like a puzzle, and attached to a newly constructed roof and base.
Originally, a single porch wrapped around the turret from the front to the side of the house. Some reimagining was necessary to accommodate the house's proximity to the road in its new location. We are grateful to Mark Grover for his most excellent carpentry skills, and Kevin Russell for his precise painting. Special thanks to Richard McSherry for the porch and color designs. The colors are original to this house, and reflective of the Victorian Period. |
